To heal is to touch with love that which we previously touched with fear.
We often think of healing as something we’ll do when we have the time, strength, or wherewithal to dive into the depths of our trauma. It’s a tall order – an all-consuming endeavor at times to say “yes” to healing.
Trauma has layers – much like an onion. Unraveling these layers takes time. Sometimes, healing happens without our input or intention, or even willingness. Other times, we actively seek it, asking for old patterns and beliefs to be unveiled, lightened, and released.

Then, without notice or desire, the curriculum for Ph.D.-level healing arrives. You might think, “Um… no thank you!” or wonder, “Did I invite this or manifest it somehow?” It may seem too much, something to put on the back burner. Yet, when it keeps tapping on the window of your inner awareness, whispering, “It’s time, let’s get started,” you sigh and know that indeed, it is time.
