Ego Trip: Taking the Scenic Route to Presence
There is a pathway amidst the frenetic searching, railing, and tantrums of the mind. An opening beckons toward something else, another way. It is the silent, calm waters of spaciousness – of awareness – of falling backward with arms outstretched into the vast sea of presence.
However, it isn’t always an easy choice to make in the heat of a scary moment. No matter how frustrated or fearful we are, or how stuck or imprisoned we feel, this switch into pure reality and awareness never feels “enough.” There is a place within that is so drained by trying, by disappointment, and by feelings of powerlessness and helplessness, that even letting go of what is haunting us feels too hard. We think it won’t sustain happiness, peace, or what we want or think we need in our moments of distress, so we ignore the “gift of the present” – the space where all things are real, in alignment and truth abounds.
You are the sky. Everything else – it’s just the weather.
